    Cracked Kawasaki mule gas tank

Does anyone know what I can use to patch up a plastic gas tank? Would JB Weld work? A new tank is over $300 and was wondering if any of you had experience with fixing a leaking plastic fuel tank.

    Thanks

JB Weld will work, but make sure you get the one for plastics/polymers.

            Won't stand up to gasoline.

Will the gas eventually eat through it? Or that should do it? Man, taking that little gas tank out from under the seat was a pain.

Youtube using a soldering iron to reheat the tank and melt the crack together.

You can buy a gas tank repair kit at the auto parts store. Works with plastic or steel.

This right here! I ran a mesquite stump up through my plastic tank in my ranger and tried plastic weld epoxy, heat gun and hpde plastic weld, etc. And none worked. Found a tank on ebay for 1/5th cost from factory.

I put flex seal tape on my gas tank hose about 6 months ago ... still no leaks

Granted it only sees gas when I am putting gas in the tank ... not sure if it would hold up if it was on the tank itself

Probably the best answer right here. Unless the crack is at the top of the tank, the glues and epoxy never hold up.
