I'll keep an eye on it... Shooting 215's out of a 300 WM with .002 of neck tension and I haven't seen any COAL changes

Nearly 30 years ago I literally flipped a coin 338/06 or 35 Whelen. Whelen won built on a 700 action love that rifle. Guess I need to get around to building a 338/06 now.

I want to build one off of a A303 Springfield action. will give you 5 rounds in the magazine. I have a A303 3006 and love it.

I have had the yearning to rebarrell my 03A3 into a 338-06 for a long time. This just might be the final inspiration I need.

My 338-06 is a pre64 Win M70 30-06 that has been rebored to 338-06. I've killed moose and elk with mine using 210 Nosler Partitions fueled by IMR 4064.

I used a box of that to break in the new barrel. Lots of bore cleaning between shots so I really don't have a clue how accurate it is.

For me the higher velocity and better BC's of the 338 bullets won out.
