    Pinché vacas!!! I hate cows!

Well since this hunt is on a pause I’ll tell you a little about this place. It’s pretty open country up here. There’s little oak mots and shelter belts scattered here and there but not a lot of stuff to hide in. There’s a pretty good sized draw that runs from the SW corner to the NE corner.

The stand I’m in is an elevated pop up on the edge of the draw and a shelter belt. Pretty basic set up. Feeder at 20 and my wind blowing out to the open. I bumped two really good deer walking in. 1 was a 140ish 3 year old 9pt that I recognized. The other was a more mature deer. He never really spooked and I watched him for a pretty good min but never got a great look at his horns.

Before good light I had deer come from all directions to the pen. I’m not sure what’s up with the feeder but corn is piled up under it and it never spun. I suspect coons have broken something. Cows are starting to move off, there’s a pile of do es and blue jays in the corn and it’s still 28° with a light SW breeze.

Let one of these does come back and y’all are gonna see a bloody err!

Dead here. The other cam didn’t show much going on either. I do kind of wish I’d sat there. We have a troublesome boar hog and he’s been in there all morning.

                                2019/20 live!!!

Easy fix for the squirrels and coverts. We had the same problem in Woodward with coons and Porcipines.

We took an 8’ t post because there are cows that summer on our property. Drove it in the ground near the feeder. Drilled 2 holes in the top of the post to zip tie the solar panel to. Bellow the panel we drilled another hole for the covert. We bought 2 1/4” eye bolts, washers and wingnuts for both. Connected the two eye bolts together with a bolt, washers and lock nuts. You can then pivot the camera. Had 3 cameras running since July. Before we were lucky for them to last a month before being unplugged or chewed up.
