Thats huge. Would like to know how old it was.

We have had several gar that size aged. They ranged from 17 to 37 years old. It is hard to tell by size. Its kinda like aging a 6ft man. He may be 16 or 75. They grow incredibly fast till about 6ft. Females may reach 6ft in 5 years but really slow down as they get older.

Thats a whopper. Would like to see a certified weight on it.

I weighed the picture on my certified scale and it came in at 7 lbs 4 oz. Using the standard fish weight calculating formula [weight of pict X 34.49 = certified weight] I came up with 249.99999 lbs so 250 lbs is close enough.
