    Stand Bag

I've been contemplating not carrying my bag with me to the stand each hunt. In years past we carried everything in our pockets and if we didn't have room then we didn't need it.

I figure a knife and a flashlight are about all I really need while I'm in the stand. I can throw my Thermocell in my back pocket and be good to go.

My bag with all of the extras can stay in the boat until I need it.

    QUESTIONS:
What all do y'all take to the stand with you?
Is it something you use or that you want just in case you may need it?

Well will you look at that? That's the exact same thing I carry.

I use a Cabelas fannypack with shoulder straps. Always tote stuff I don't need on every trip, but if I need it, I got it. Water bottle, rangefinder, back up release, wind checker, knife, sharpener, facemask, light gloves, rubber gloves, granola bar or two, binocular, etc. Can't carry all that in my pockets, but I frequently sit a stand until 11:00 or 12:00 am and come back at 1:30/2:00pm until dark. I only hunt the perfect winds and when I got 'em, I take advantage.

My stand bag is a 2 gallon ziploc bag. I poke a small hole in it at the top and loop a string through it to easily carry it. Usually has a bottle or two of water, a sandwich bag of nuts or jerky, SD card reader, some tissue for marking blood trails, flashlight, etc. Keep it sealed up to minimize any scent and hang it from a limb in the tree stand.

That's what I'm talking about. If I need some of the "other stuff" I'll go back to the boat/truck and get it.
