    Georgia Black Bear Hunt

Tomorrow morning I'm heading to Georgia for a Black Bear hunt. With my tag I get 2 bear, 12 deer, and all the hogs I can shoot...Basically if it's brown it's down. Will be hunting the Chattahoochee National Forest, a small property at 1,354 square miles, yes MILES. A buddy of mine who lives in the area will be hosting us and has been scouting so our chances are pretty good.

Thought I'm excited about the hunt the most meaningful part is that I get to do this hunt with my dad. For me that's super meaningful because he really wasn't in my life very much growing up. I resented him for a long time and wanted nothing to do with him but through the grace of GOD I was able to forgiveness, just as God forgave me. We've come a long long way and as it so happens our side of the family tree has a tree stand in it.

If I have internet access at some point I'll try to update you guys.

12 deers? That's a lot of coolers needed.

Yeah that's a lot of meat. We'll only harvest what we can use.

Deer are like rats in GA...

I really wish I would have gotten in more hunting when I lived there.....

I'm still in disbelief over how this hunt went down. On the 4th day, after planing, sitting, scouting, putting up stands, blinds, and making natural blinds not only did I shoot my first bear but 20 minutes after, I shot a second bear to tag out.

This was the first bear shot weighed about 150lbs

This bear field dressed at 235lbs and too me and my dad 7 hours to drag out of the creek bottom.
