Good luck! Growing up in bear country, we would use the beaver tail (no pun intended) for bear bait. Would nail the tail on a tree about 6 foot high and let the grease ooze out of them. Always had great success using them.

I'd suggest night time with headlamp and your bow. Sneak on light him up, shoot. It would be epic. Just sayin.

This will be very hard . We had them on our lease and a couple guys tired to hunt them and they gave up. Trapping is the way to go .
