          Yea, tastes like burnt wood to me. All the Texas bourbons (Ranger Creek, Garrison Bros, and Tx) have the same taste to me, alcohol rapidly aged in small barrels.

                  Yep. I am not a fan of any of those either (especially TX bourbon), yet they charge a premium price. I think the Texas craft distillers try to cut corners and most sell their bourbon after only aging 4 or so years. I think some will eventually produce a good product, but their is no substitute for age.
