    Blazer X2 Vanes

Has anyone ever used Bohning Blazer "X2" vanes on a hunting shaft? They are a lower profile than the original Blazers and work great on target arrow setups. I was thinking about trying them on some hunting arrows...

I've got a batch of X2's coming in this week...I will fletch 2 arrows and do a fieldpoint to broadhead comparison with a few different heads...we will see...

eh....the performance wasn't affected that much. there was not as big a difference between regular blazers and X2 blazers as there was between regular vs. mini blazers with BHs. They should work fine with your set up is regular blazers are working now. At least that is what I saw with them.

I tested the mini's out to 35/40 yards...worked fine with expandables, fixed were ok, but I wouldn't suggest hunting with them...I thought the X2's might be a happy medium...

It's just funny that Bohning advertises them for target use, yet there is no reference that I can find for them to be used for hunting...

                            FIELD TEST***

Fleched 2 arrows with X2 vanes, shot very similar to the Blazers I was sighted in for. I shot a field point and a Slick Trick 100gr magnum at 20,30,40 yards. Same point of impact. I was pleased with the results.
