Sorry for the delay in the story, I had to get him to the taxi. So I shot him at the La Contessa ranch in Yancey. We had been hunting a different deer (an 8 year old) for the last 5 hunts or so but he never showed. We had seen this guy 3 times before. So there we are watching deer, hoping the old timer to show up. At about 6:30, just before it was too dark to see, the guide says "screw it. If you want to shoot that.." I don't even think I let him finish his sentence before I put the big boy on the ground. The 308 did its job and he never took a step. When I got up to him I couldn't believe how big he was! My taxidermist should have him scored tomorrow. Can't wait to see what he scores!

I didn't have the ok from the ranch manager the first 3 times I saw him lol. I have no self control haha. Shot was a little over 150 yards
