I weld up a little 3 legged tripod base with 3/4 pipe and flat 1 1/2 x 2 1/2 feet on bottom. Bolt boat seat to that. 3 legs will adapt to any terrain and always be rock solid.

Thanks TBH for the plans and idea!
Here is my latest garage creation. It works awesome, perfect height for me and my pop-up.
$35 real tree camo boat seat (could have saved some $ and gone with $20 no cushion) - academy
$15 step stool - walmart
$8 swivel - academy
$4 hardware - home depot
$0 scrap plywood for bottom bracket
$62 - total
It wasnt cheap but it beats anything on the market.Last edited by Birddog66; 10-04-2012, 12:59 PM.

I need to build 9 for the triple person box blinds pops made for the kids. Having two on hand, we made the blinds to work at this height. It's been 5 years, so am looking for the best price points on all the parts. I am struggling right now finding the larger steps, as I haven't been able to find them at Home Depor or Lowes, which is where I found them to begin with.
Any guidance would be appreciated!Proud member since 1999

for you guys looking for a taller stool, I was at Lowes yesterday and they had a rubbermaid type of outdoor side table that is about the same size as the step stools but taller. I sat on one and it was fine. I would not suggest leaning back as the legs could buck without making some bracing. I think it was around $10 and made in USA.
