What do you guys have the most luck on as far as lures go to catch them?
Roadrunner type lures as well as plain old curly tailed grubs in white or chartreuse or my favorite of white and chartreuse. I just buy the cheapest lures I can find because breakoffs are frequent.

I hit the ditches with a fine meshed dip net and load up on small crawfish. Use a 2/0 circle hook Carolina rigged. Always have a few rods with road runners tied on in various colors.

I'm fairly close to the lake (Hewitt).

Posted my boat in the duck boat thread a few days ago.

We always waited for the Red buds to start blooming. Then is was time to chase crappie and sandies. Probably can do it earlier, but I only hunt in cold weather, not fish.

If any of you Conroe people know how to run the lake north of 1375 towards little stubblefield , the males are stacked around wildwood shores . I'm a largemouth fisherman and couldn't keep those things off my squarebills

Made that run 100s of times in the dark no less. Even did 1375 to stubble on plane. Dumb college days
