Big Bertha Feeder #4 - w/ Krivoman Unit

Built Big Bertha # 4 today to take out West with me to Dryden in a few weeks. Wanted a feeder that would spread corn in one direction because some of the big bucks won't jump in the feed pens. Got a Krivoman directional unit, some steel, and an old 80 gallon air tank.... Began this AM at around 8....

Got the drain hole cut and extension pipe welded in place.

Laying out legs on skid pipe.

Cut down original Krivoman feeder plate to make it fit.

Got tank leveled and then added the legs.

    Feeder unit welded in place.

Was going to build a bigger cage with a door, but didn't want to pay the $69 for the 2"x4" panel so I said let's just roll with it and what I had. Welded it all in, and figure if it needs fixing, I'll just bring it back in one day and cut it out.

Used a steel wheel that I cut in half for the opening hatch and made a lid from plate and flat strap.

Got base coat of paint on just before dark. Gonna add some camo and a few extra details tomorrow. Will try her out to see how far she shoots corn before I paint tomorrow and I'll post video then.

Not going to lie, one of the more interesting feeders I've seen. Looks good though! Hope it does the job well.

2 good whitetail bucks, a javi, and a grey fox.

Ain't pretty, but I'll bet she'll work good, and for a looong time.

Will see how far (and much) corn gets thrown tomorrow during the test run....

I hunt out by Dryden myself. I need to build me a good heavy duty feeder my self. Looks like it will last.

I doubt the hogs will be able to knock that one over

Search "Big Bertha feeder" in the DIY forum.
I've made 4 HEAVY DUTY feeders for Dryden and all are going strong.

First test run with the unit and ran it for 5 seconds. Got corn out to 14 yards and I'd say 50% was in the first 10 feet, but for the set-up I'm very happy. Going to modify the front of the cage a little, but she's almost done!
