    South Texas protein

What is everyone seeing with the start of protein? Are they hitting it hard or not really on it yet?

They are hammering the cottonseed. We haven’t put out protein yet.

We're feeding Double Down and they're hitting it so hard where we are that it is difficult to keep the feeders full

Us too on dd but they are on the corn more than the protein. And the pipelines.

Bosque County, supplemental feed is getting hammered in the tune of approximately 400# every 5 days.

Tom Green County, seems like they never stop hammering feed...ha ha

It took 11 days to empty 7 - 55 gal drum feeders.
Ranch is pretty brown right now in Hebbronville

I hope this doesn't turn into another DD commercial!!

I have cotton seed out and protein, they aren't touching the seed but hitting the protein at a couple feeders. Lots of fiber out there right now so that might explain them not eating the seed much. Now that I have the coon problem somewhat contained they are eating more of the protein.
I had 12 coons on one feeder few days ago.

did i mention i hate coons?????

I am feeding Wendlands 20% from Jupe Mills. I was using L&E but they seem to like Jupe Mills better.

We can't keep our cottenseed feeders full right now. We put out protein last week, but they haven't ate much yet. This is in Atascosa County. We are feeding L&E.
