North Central. Not known for huge deer right where I’m at.

I just got back to the house. It’s been raining all morning but I had to give it a shot on opening day!

I got soaked after about 10 minutes, but I did see a buck (80 yards out.....). I think it’s going to be a good season based off the pictures I’ve been getting. Looks like rain until Wednesday for my area, so I’ll probably wait until next weekend to really get after it.

My bucks shed velvet in the last couple weeks and have become pretty inconsistent as far as patterns go. It should be a really fun early season trying to find the right tree!

Rained all night. Been raining off and on all morning. Not a shred of movement. Gonna give another 30 to an hour.

Set up on pipeline. Major trail to the right at around 18yrds. 20yrd shot to a block across and diagonal to my right. The main trail hits the pipeline then splits into 3 headed to a bedding area I believe. 60yd to the gas pad.

If I didn’t have this blind set up I wouldn’t have even gone this morning. Not much movement on the Facebook pages looks like. It’s gonna be real tough since I just got here. I don’t know much of anything about my area.

Rain has totally stopped for the first time. Birds are really waking up now. Hopefully see some movement soon.

After a rain I have had great luck! I'd be sitting tight for another 1-1.5 hrs.

Rain came back in so I called it a morning. Try again tomorrow most likely.

White county has a lot of good deer and a lot of different terrain. Do you live in Searcy?
