Prayers up for you, your family and especially your wife.
I am in my 21st year of dealing with this nasty disease from the healthcare provider standpoint (Radiation Oncology) and it isn’t one bit easier than it was when I started. I don’t know the reason for it but I know God has a reason and plan for everything...I am sure I won’t understand it before standing before him but I know it is there! I can tell you that (again I don’t understand it but it is real) there is a correlation between peoples attitudes,strength and faith and how their disease effects them. Stay strong in your support of your wife no matter what and know that lots of strangers are praying diligently for your wife!
