    Kayak Rack for Truck

Wanted something that I could easily load 2 kayaks, still Park underneath our carport and still open and shut the tailgate. I looked online and found some ideas and ended up building a rack out of left over 2x4s and a couple of pieces of 1.5" PVC pipe and four 3/8" eye bolts. I plan on painting it black and pool noodles to pvc and it will be done. I just got back from a test drive and everything stayed in place so looks like I'm good to go. Thought I would share.

That's almost identical to the rack I built for my utility trailer. Works great. The only potential issue I see is that you'll probably lose your back glass if you ever have to slam on your brakes hard.

I thought about that and might add a cross brace and slide a piece of PVC pipe through scupper hole and cross brace to help eliminate that.

Looks good, and great back up plan to protect the glass!

Awesome thinking about doing this for my Malone trailer that I haul my hobies on. The current set up is a real PITA to load/unload.
