Problem with carfax and the similar sites is that not everything is reported. Generally if you don't utilize your insurance to repair a vehicle, it isn't reported.

There may be other ways to keep it off a carfax, but I know that insurance claims put it on the vin

How did you determine it was wrecked?

What proof do you have the salesman knew it was wrecked?

The frame looks like a new front corner welded on.
Dealer did the undercoating and painting.

I had a dealer tell me first hand that they didn't report all their onsite body work to carfax. obviously i moved on down the road.

You don't have much chance, and correctly repaired damage on that type vehicle really doesn't change the value any.
