What is a good brand and style machete

I have alot of brush I want to clear out, mostly yaupon, elm, and oak. Machetes I have now are junk. Do you prefer a certain style? Or recommend a brand that will hold and edge? Thanks in advance.

I’ve got one of these but it’s a Gerber, the best I’ve used. I much prefer the hooked end to a normal machete profile. It’s light and you can swing the fire out of it without it wearing you out.

I’d like to know this as well. Either all I have used are junk, or I have the wrong form when using. Honestly, it could go either way.

Get a good pair of limb cutters/loppers. Fiskars . Less work than a machete and can use them to process deer.

I don't know if any of them still exist, but we used to go to the Army surplus store and get a military one. Best I have ever found.

I think mine is a Blackie Collins but I will have to go dig it out and check

Woddsmans Pal is a good tool but a little more $$$

I've used quite a few and I were gonna have do more than trim back the brush to keep it from scratching the truck I'd have to go with a Kubota for small brush and a bobcat with mulcher for the bigger stuff. If worse came to absolute worst then a big brush axe and the small gerber brush axe above.
