One of the challenges around where I live now is stalking bushpigs in the corn at night.

The black jack’s however makes it difficult as it may take two hours to stalk close enough in the corn.

The photo I attached the pigs were 5 yards away.

I use my 303 Brit rifle with a light mounted below the barrel and an aimpoint red dot sight.

Problem with the thick weeds in the corn is if I switch the light on all you see is a wall and no pig.

All you then get is a growl in the dark and then the pigs busting through the corn...

They have not taken to bait I have put out due to enough food in the corn [emoji849]

But its awesome sitting in a pop up blind at night waiting for them...

Bowhunting in Limpopo on this trip. Ka Maoto Safaris is a donor to our SCI Houston Chapter. Louis Loots is the owner/PH. I am looking forward to my 5th trip to RSA since 2008.

I have concessions in both the Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces of South Africa Skeeter.

                    Well spotted,

We got close enough... 50 yards on the sticks and the hunter took the head shot with his 270 instead of the vital triangle shot as this one was to become table fair.

I would love to get a bushpig with my longbow! Got my big wartie last trip, but have always wanted a bushpig!

Hunting bushpigs is also called hunting the poor man’s leopard.

They can and is very challenging to get a kill with the rifle but then I have hunted two with the bow in day light on one of my concessions...

We had a great hunt yesterday covering roughly 12 miles on foot spotting and stalking...
Both the Black Wildebeest and the Blesbuck was taken with my 3006 and 150gr Nosler Accubond bullets resulting in one shot kills...
