How to repair the 4 wheel drive wires on a 2010 Polaris ranger

The picture shows where the why are you going to the front for a drive, is broke. It only has about 3/4 of an inch wire going into the Casing. Any idea how to replace this?

Remove the electrical connector and solder new wires in place.

Does that mean strip the wires back and soder them back together. Or does the short end come out

I would strip, solder (or water tight butt connector) then apply heat shrink, liquid tape then 3M electrical tape. After season Id try and locate a new harness

Solder splice and heat shrink. Wouldn’t hurt to put liquid tape over heat shrink.

Is that a solenoid? Or sensor? Gonna be tight soldering that, see about changing it first?? Hard to see in your pics, if you do solder, strip one wire first, solder it and get some heat shrink, then do the other wire to keep em sepetated.

It is short. Maybe 1" long

I don't see how it would screw out to replace it

Don't EVER use wire nuts on any kind of vehicle. The do fine for home use where the wires are not exposed to vibration and the elements but in a vehicle they will not reliably hold nor will they insulate the wires to prevent corrosion.

Knowing where that is, pain in the rear to work on correctly!
