Things to do in Fredericksburg?

We spend a lot of time in Fredericksburg. We hunt there and our friends own a couple rental homes. Shop shop shop. A few of the places have beer for the guys while the women shop. For food we like Silver Creek or Hondos. Our land owners say to eat at Porky’s off 87 but that’s on the other side of town from our lease. Wine Wine Wine. There is a vineyard on every corner. Heck we even have one at the entrance to our deer lease. Nothing like riding up on the ranger in camo to get a bottle of wine.

If you go west on 16 there used to be a granite place on the right across the street from the high school. Turn right on that road and go down to the old folks home, there is a high fenced place that used to have some really big deer in them. Not sure if that old man still lives there or the deer are still there or not.

My wife is from there and we go there all the time. There is so much to do and on the weekends, it is packed crazy. Dont plan on parking on Main Street. There is MarketPlatz, the skating rink, and of course, Main Street. The Pacific Museum is awesome. They usually have some sort of festival every weekend.

Also, eat and drink at The Brewery and Auslander. Try Friedhelms at the west end of town. There are a few gun shops and a lot of places to stop and get a drink. Dancing and music at Hondo's, Silver Creek, and Crossroads. A lot of old churches to go to as well. If you get out of town and off Main Street, there are a lot of bed and breakfast's as well. Go to Luckenbach, Albert, or Stonewall. Head east and go to Garrison Brothers Distillery for a tour. You can also head south the the Pedernales Brewery and take a tour and have some beers. The movie theater is across from the Pedernales Brewery as well. There is so much to do, that you wont get it all done. It is a fun place.

LBJ National park-just down the road a piece. Wineries! Go to Becker Vineyards, among many others. Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park for getting outdoors and doing stuff. Rathskeller Restaurant for breakfast. German beer all over town!
