Traditional First Shot Challenge Week 4

Day 3 shot- 4 3/4"

First Ive shot at 15 yds holding the bow as vertical as possible. I figured since I missed the paper completely...I better see if Im grouping.

Last night...I made a case to myself for not canting the bow...when I shot bareshafts and held the bow vertical and ended up with some of my best trad groupings.

My logic for not canting: elimination of variable...especially my varying cant angle.

Its a slow grind.

Byron if your shooting gap or some other style of aiming with the arrow could you be s little on the weak side with shafts? I mean of course if your shooting right handed. Your group is great.

Just shot my Day 3 arrow, almost in the same low spot as Day 2. A little better: 1"; so three-day total is 1-3/4".

Here's my day 4. 1&1/8". I'm all around it. Give me a few weeks and I might get one in.
I only shot the one shot today. At least with the long bow.

Day four. Drew and loosed and then realized that I didn't really aim. Kinda snap shot it. Oh well, it wasn't my worst.

Good for all of us to keep on keeping on! Point of this whole concept is to practice at making the best first shot on a hunt. Most of these shots shown this week will be effective on game.

My shooting is way off, but I haven't had much chance to shoot this winter.

Argh... yanked Day 4 release: 3-13/16" right, but on the bright side, it wasn't low. Four-day total: 5-9/16"
