Way back when, it was the Shamrock at Whiskey Bend in Longview, TX. I had some words with a couple guys and the barmaid ushered them out. I got coldcocked coming out the door and had the crap kicked out of me when I was down. I frequented it often until I saw one of those jaybirds leaning over the pool table when my eyes adjusted to the dim light. I picked up a chair and returned the favor and I ain’t been back. I didn’t even get a beer !

Used to buy beer from Enoc when I was 14.
Blue Vacek ran an awesome beer joint in Holman years ago - now Holman Valley Steakhouse.

If that's the one in Acuna you could buy more than a beer there

The Bearded Fox Brewing Co. in Tomball is my favorite.

I volunteer there and run the bar on some weekends so I get to drink for free

I used to enjoy London Hall when we hunted out near Junction. Lots of history there, and at one time it was the oldest, continuing open dance hall in the state.

Of course, in my younger years, Acuna was fun when we hunted near Langtry.

Before you Young Un’s time but the Coconut Grove in Lake Worth was a real Beer Joint. No dancing, No live music. Great Jukebox, 2 pool tables. Had that Beer Joint smell. Cold beer,Feisty waitresses and those GOF’s didn’t tolerate smart talk from us youngsters. It was about where Chicken Express is now.
                              199 was 2 lanes.

Back in my younger days there was a place in Ft. Worth called Rustlers Rest, I went there all the time. It has been gone for 30 years or so and I haven't thought about it for years. Just thinking about it put a smile on my face
