Some friends while fishing saw several groups of 30-40, about 30 miles west of Key West headed to Cuba last week.

Atta boy! Worst thing I've ever done to my lay outs was laying on a shallow hump in the middle of a muddy playa.. took a broom and missed the heck out of my blind.. One of my best most rememberable hunts ever..

There are few things worse than hunting a playa whose main watershed is a cotton field. Some mucky, boot sucking crap..... 2nd only to akali lakes, that mud will suck the chest waders right off a man!

Heck I'm 38 and in reasonably good shape, and if it requires more than about a 100 yard hike on solid ground, I'll find a new place! I just ain't that mad at em anymore!

I hunted ONE alkali lake out here and swore never again. It stinks and I was covered head to toe in that black much after a few spills
