      You win

I would never have done all of that to get one to grow, but would have done all of that to keep it from growing.

The ones in the pasture, I pick up the dead pieces with my loader forks and scratch the stump off at the ground with my box blade. Then let the tree grow back if it wants to.
I just hate dealing with stumps when I am mowing or driving around .
Trees anywhere close to the house I will go the extra mile for.
        Thanks for the thumbs up.

I'll snap a couple for you tomorrow when I get home from work.
There is also a mountain laurel making a comeback in my little cage.

Probably next year, it will be providing some shade.

It will grow back way faster than a sapling would have.
I shot one of my neighbors dogs yesterday, do you think it would do any good to put the rotting corps next to the tree for fertilizer? I hate to just waste it?

                            For the bud light.

If it keeps a beer cold then it was all worth it.

Well, if the first steps you took didn't kill it, might as well give the dog a try as well.
