Question for the ignorant, are those prices per 100 pounds on the hoof?

So your 200-300 lb steers were going from $1.57-$2.00/lb

We sold calves this past weekend in Buffalo. 1.36-1.79 a pound depending on weight. They only had about 1400 head this weekend

You can download a app on your phone for current, regional prices

              Cattle market mobile

Download it- go to - other useful tools - select calf calculator- then select home location (state and next a town close to your area )
              - category - approx weight - frame - then select GET ESTIMATED PRICE

This will give you a idea of current calf prices in your area of state
It usually is pretty close on current market prices

Last week prices seemed good and stable

              Hope it helps for you

They are going to be cheap if we don't get any rain.

We took an OLD Beefmaster cow that hasn't been bred in 2 years to Stephenville for my MIL last week and it brought .58/#.

This is one of the biggest factors that can effect prices in a region
Hope we get the rain !

We brought several BRED cows that palpated and wanted them sold as stocker cows.
Yeah, they went for packer cows. A bred 1200# cow went for about $700. prices are low. Its no wonder i couldn’t sell our herd on our own. Apparently we are too high for bred cows and heifers that will palpate out even though our cows look 100 times better than what runs through the auction

Depends on what market you are in. Stockers and feeders are up. Cull cows and replacements are down.

Its' all about the cycle. Stockers and feeders are normally up now through September. Cull cows are normally down until November - Dec.
