It will grow back Very very fast.
This is my generator and blower burning it fast.
I'm skeptical but maybe I'll learn something new. Now if we were talking hackberry, mesquite, or crape myrtle I'd for sure agree.

Yeah, big root system is the key to super fast regrowth.
We shall see on this one. Might be a 2 or 3 yr thread.

I vote it lives. I had the most pitiful looking pecan tree when we bought our place. I tried to nurse it back. It kept braking until not much was left. My wife tried to convince me numerous times to cut it all down. 2 years ago I cut it down to about a foot tall, and got rid of bad/rotten wood. It had a fungus, heart rot I think? I treated it and babied it. Last year it grew but kind of funky. I trimmed it up last winter and this year it looks amazing and healthy and it is about 8-9 ft tall from 1 ft 2 years ago.

Tree died, you cut it off at the ground, burned the stump out and you are expecting the tree to grow back?

            Must be a Phoenix Oak

If it grows back I will be surprised

If it has any shot at all you will need to put a heavy duty exclusion cage around it to protect any regrowth from the deer eating it.

Yeah, that's how we get rid of trees on our place

Good deal, sometimes they just need a restart.

Yes it is, especially when it gets some rain.

We will see. I am not burning the green part of the root system, just the old dead stuff.

Won't come back. Would have better luck if it was a Shin Oak than a Spanish....

I think the only step missing is a dose of remedy.

Never thought you could be 1 step away from stump grinding and a tree would actually grow back.
