Filled up protein yesterday and pretty dry and deer killing protein. A shame this deer was just hit earlier before I got to lease. Found him just off road on county line of frio and zavala. Gives us a good representation of some growth close to the lease.

Boy have our deer backed off the protein and cottonseed. There are ton's of mesquite beans and pear apples. Also been 104+ so I guess the heat has them
Slacking. Anyone else have there deer back off consumption? We are in Catarina above Laredo. This was the temperature yesterday afternoon at our place.

No backing off between Catarina and Encinal. Deer eating protein like there's no tomorrow. Truck showed 106 Friday and Saturday

They just called and are finished up. Second time in 2 years we had bad aggressive bees under our covered deck. We told them to tear it up this time if they needed so they removed some deck boards to get the honey and honey comb out. Hopefully they are gone for good this time. Never met Jim but he sure is an easy guy to deal with and very friendly. Called them yesterday evening and they were there this morning.



I haven't been to the ranch in about 7 weeks since knee surgery but I am being told it looks like a jungle. Deer are still hammering protein as fast as we can give it to them. Plan on being down there next week to replace a feeder and do some "light" work. Things should be looking awesome.

What's been the going rate for Longs Pest Control to take care of the bee hives? I'm 15 miles s of Catarina and they quoted me 500.00.

I'm glad to see someone else is experiencing this as well. I was beginning to think my deer were the only ones that had slowed way down on the protein consumption. We are between Alice and San Diego.

Our has slowed down consumption by 70 % compared to last month.
