    New toy for Christmas!!

Well for the second time, I have become a boat owner. I have been hitting the lake a bit more on my kayak, so when a good deal popped up on a used boat, I jumped on it. Actually, I told my wife about it, she handed me a check, and told me to go get it. This is my first bass boat, I had a small offshore boat years ago.

It is a 1987 20ft Champion with a 1999 200hp Mecury. The hull & body is in great condition. It probably could use some new carpet. If definitely needs some new electronics. I would like something a little bigger, but I have a Helix 5 with side imaging for my kayak. I thought about just buying another transducer and using it for a while.

Probably since it is so close, but I really like Lake Houston also.

I have a few place to catch bass on Conroe, but I need a place to catch some Catfish & Crappie so I can take my dad

It has set up for about a year, but it fired right up. I think I'm going to siphon all the gas out and put some fresh fuel in it before I run it any longer. I might make a trip to Buccees in Waller and pick up some ethanol free gas

Nice rig. Two things to know if you are a first time boat owner:

                      1. The best two days of a boat owner's life is 1. The day you buy it and 2. The day you sell it.
                      2. BOAT is an acronym for B reak O ut A nother T housand.

                      Best of luck.

                      Doug

Gibbons Creek Reservoir up between huntsville and college station has great catfish and from what i heard, lots of crappie. Decent bass lake.

                        Also has Tilapia

                              Congrats on a nice boat.

Since it sat up and is new to you I would replace the impeller, change the lower unit oil and make sure the seal is good. Might want to put a good gas filter in too.
