    The Ferrari Knife.....La Ferrari

This was great fun and a treat to work on so I just thought I'd share a small bit of the journey to what led to the La Ferrari knife and sheath…..following is the result of what began as a brainstorming session with a good friend to present his colleague with a unique gift. The idea was to bring to life the essence of Ferrari’s Supercar, the La Ferrari and Its’ distinct features into a handmade knife design. As the gift is presented to it's recipient, I might be freed up to share a little more...

It began with initial drawings that included the curves and racing stripes as well as colors, distinct Cavallino Rampante (horse) and carbon fiber highlights the Ferrari is recognized for.

    1) Initial drawings...
    2) Next came the design of the handle scales and grinding the profile of the blade....
    3) carbon fiber scales
4)...embedding tire caps from Ferrari wheels into the handle itself!...
    5) Final touches and sheath...

Next came the edge grinding and sharpening to make sure the Ferrari Knife not only looked good but was shaving sharp....

Thanks all...pics of the car it's modeled after are below and to say it's crazy fast is an extreme under exageration! I had the thrill of feeling the excelleration and making turns at speeds I still laugh about....funny, to say the least...

Thank you men, it was a blast and still a little giddy about it - juvenile, I know!

Not my style, but DANG good work and killer attention to detail! My son would give a few toes for this knife!
