DIY Scent Crusher Tote

I was thinking of using a trashcan like this.

Just run a bar to hang your clothes on with hangers.

Mount the ozone machine on the side or on the lid.

Ballgame, trash can idea is genius! Dollars to donuts one of my "people" would try and put garbage in it! :-) I'm gonna commandeer a closet in my house.

Been seeing the scent crusher totes and closets advertised but the price seemed too high for what you get. Saw an idea from Midwest Whitetails that I added to.

I took one of my wife's storage bins and added a 1x6 to the bottom to provide stability for installing a $2 shelf bracket as a way to hang my clothes. I ordered an ozone generator and used Velcro to secure the unit to the side of the tote. Drilled a hole and was ready to go.

How airtight does it need to be effective?

I don’t think having it air tight is super important. I think having some circulation between garments may be helpful. I have been thinking about putting one together using a portable closet from amazon

I agree with bluedevil, while I covered any holes I had on my tote believe me once you open the tote you can really smell the ozone. The scent crusher closets don't appear to be air tight just closed off enough to get the ozone around all the clothing.

Used this during my recent MCAAP trad hunt. Brought it into the hotel room and bathed my boots, outer layer and backpack every night. So far, so good!
