Beautiful sunrise this morning. West of St Louis right now. By the time we get there and get our license bought we should be in the stand a little after lunch.
We are just a few miles out. Combines are busy harvesting the last fields of standing corn. It's 30 degrees and we have seen quite a few deer out in the fields
I picked a really bad time to get sick. Been traveling a lot with work lately and it's finally caught up with me. Hopefully i can stop coughing, sneezing and hacking long enough to let a big boy get in range.
We are in. I'm set up 40 yards off the edge of a green field in a ladder stand against a bois d'arc tree.
Wind is such that if i see a deer in the green field i should be able to call to it without worrying about the wind. Service is very spotty so I'll try and post pics when i can.
