    I hour labor. Typically it's $120 an hour and the diagnostics probably took the minimum.

      Just the facts:
      You have an issue with your truck and call the dealer.
      Service manager says he THINKS it may be covered under a recall.
      You drop the truck off and they diagnose the problem but it turns out to be a different issue not covered under the recall.
      You decide to fix it yourself rather than have them do it.
      They charge you $129 for their time/diagnosis.

      Seems fair to me.

          This with fix that dash light. It will probably go off in another couple weeks, the reappear the following month.

              Bait and switch, $1200 for the repair that takes 10 min to fix, then charges you $129 for not taking the bait. Yep that's a dealership.

              And they didn't tell you what needed to be fixed, just the fix cost $1200.

                If I drop it off for a warranty issue and the dealer finds out the vehicle is not under warranty, they should call before any charges are accumulated to let me know.

                I dropped mine off for a noise, Auto-Nation Dodge in Houston called and told me it was out of warranty and the diagnostic fee would be $*** for them to find out the problem. I picked it up for zero dollars.

                  also...if they ran a diagnostic test, ask for a print out, and match it to you VIN...before you leave
