Not I. They smeared the blood on my face, but no heart

You lie!!! I told you the first thing i wanted to do after i killed one was cut out the heart and take a bite. If anything i convinced the other two guys to do it. I felt like it was a sign of respect for the animal

Buddy on our lease gets all the hearts. He loves them. We do keep a couple and fish with them though.

I'm a card packing Choctaw and I didn't do it. I was 8 and wasn't asked to do it luckily.

I've never knowingly eaten the heart of anything cooked or raw.

Of course with hot dogs, who can tell?

I eat the heart of every deer I kill. Cooked either with fried potatoes and onions or in chile.

I did for my first bowkill. I was a spry young 15 year old kid and my uncle, his buddies and a "veterinarian" lease member helped me blood trail her and find her. It was a constant razzing while I field dressed her, and they didn't think that I would do it. I pulled out her heart, said a few Indian words that I had heard in western movies, and took a big ole bite out of it. They almost fell over when I did it, and the vet just about puked on himself.
Knowing what I know now, about blood born pathogens et al, I wouldn't do it again. When my boy kills his first, he will get the traditional blood on the cheeks.
