Currently own a .243, 6.5 CM and a .308.

Looking at getting a .270 or a .30-06, which would you go with and why?

It's the same exact case...unless you want to shoot heavy bullets, then no real difference.

Since you are contemplating between these two, why not just split the difference & get a .280...I think this is the best round of the 06 case family.

Between the 2, .30-06 simply for the variety of .30 caliber bullets to choose from, but the .270 will do just about everything the .30-06 will. If it were me and I had the 3 caliber rifles that you do, I would go to the opposite end of the spectrum and get a magnum, 7mm Rem Mag, or 300 Win Mag.

30-06,,, its flatter than most people think, can carry a much heavier bullet and has been getting the job done for over 100 years.... better variety of bullets also

7mag would fill a gap not already covered. It's a true long range round with heat. JMO

Depends what you use the calibers for, .270 will take down just anything in Texas.
