Mountain Lion Encounter

My brother just came down off the mountain here in CO and sent me this video he took during his muzzleloader elk hunt this evening. The lion came within 17 yards of where he was sitting. Haven’t got much info from him yet as service is spotty but will get the story in a bit.

LoL, I’m not sure what the ending was about. Surprised he didn’t just stay still since it obviously didn’t know he was there or just wasn’t interested in him. Hoping he got some good still photos.

I have had one encounter in Coleman, Tx with a mountain lion and all I had was my bow. I walked 3/4 mile back to camp backwards probably in record time!

Season doesn’t open until November 20th unfortunately. He’s hunting with an open sight muzzleloader which wouldn’t be my choice for a lion but if it were season I’m sure he would’ve taken it, it was plenty close enough!
