I listened to songs in Spanish while reading the lyrics in english. That got me pretty far, I have conversational skills now.

Learn the cuss words first. The rest will come naturally.

I've learned from working with lots of Spanish speakers. They teach me all the phrases I need to know.

I had four years of it, but it doesn’t appear to be the same as what I hear the majority of those speaking who were born in SA or Spain. There appears to be differences the further south one travels in South America. It sure doesn’t hurt to know a gorgeous mujer who speaks it fluently.

Use Duolingo for a few years then take a southern vacation for a few weeks

Watch movies on the Mexican channel with English subtitles.

I had an internship in a shop where the main language was Spanish and the main music was tejano. AggieRod speaks the truth. At least you'll know when people are mad at you.

Without subtitles works too. You will need a more structured program to learn conjugation.

All I know so far is ..... Un cerveza fria por favor.

The cleaning ladies are teaching me a little at a time. I don't know much yet, but I get tamales every once in a while.

20 years ago I was going to learn it.
Bought the Rosetta Stone CDs to listen to in my truck. That alone with talking to the Mexicans at work was doing pretty good.
I lost interest before I knew it well enough to stick and never tried again.

What I and most Texas raised Hispanics speak is not a genuine form of Spanish.

I/we speak Tex Mex. It's enough to sometimes get me by but also enough to get me in trouble.
