    Anyone made a snake box?

I have used a snake box when hunting rattle snakes before, but never owned one myself. After catching a good size rattle bug this past week and wrangling it into a bucket. I decide to make my own box. Has anyone made one, or used any to have some pointers or things I may not have thought about?

If by "snake box" you mean a pinewood box coffin to put his corpse in.....

They are easy to build, double wall hardware over 2x2's.
          Solid latch on the door.

I just use plastic totes. I know some guys that use old ice chest too....If you don't wanna build a flip lid box out of plywood.

I would use very flammable materials.

When I was on the S. Tx lease, a guy used to show up a Ruby's Lounge in Los Angeles on Saturday nights and he paid $6 per pound for live ones. Paid for lots of corn that way.

First time I went there I nearly crapped my pants when I walked by a truck and it sounded like a dozen of them all started sounding off at once.

Depends on the kind of hunting you do but we did away with the plywood boxes pretty quick, they're heavy, hard to transport, and need to be stored out of the elements. The cheapest and easiest were 5 gallon buckets, drill a few holes, attach a hinge and latch to the lid, then your good to go. If your picking them up on lease roads 1 or 2 should do, if your going den hunting get several. FYI-- get a line on a buyer or two before you get started, I hear buyers are hard to find and prices are nothing to get excited about.
