Little recap from this evening....

It was supposed to be pretty warm to I left the blind in the truck and decided to go without

I’ve never had any luck doing this.

As luck would have it, the only storms in south Texas popped up over me...I got soaked. About the time I was goin to pack it in, I heard a gobble.

30 minutes later, I heard the hen and saw the longbeards. 3 big gobblers and a single hen came straight in

I waited a few minutes and finally decided to draw. The birds were so locked in on the decoys (8 yards away) that they didn’t see me draw.

And that was it

It’s gonna be an interesting morning.

I’m taking my (almost 3 yr old) daughter, Kayden.

We can only hunt until about 9:15ish, so this will be a good first time for her.

Great times ahead for you for sure! My oldest daughter is 16 and I still had to wake her up several times and drag her out of bed. We are about 10 miles from Gillett.
