Buzzards won’t eat coyote

        Must have been something with that one coyote. I've seen buzzards eat coyotes that I've shot.

        I've also seen buzzards ignore particular hogs, too. Don't know why.

          May be a stupid question but have coyotes been poisoned around there in the past. Buzzards may not eat one if they've eaten poisoned ones in the past. Don't have a clue, just a wild guess. Around our place, buzzards eat dead coyotes like a fat kid eats ice cream.

            This. Ive seen all kinds of animals not get eaten. Ive always been told that it was sick, like a fever or something and then nothing will touch them

                While buzzards would rather feed on deer, small game, hogs or dead livestock, they will eat coyotes as well. Chances are your buzzards were not hungry enough to eat on the coyote but when there is nothing else, they will eat them.
