Actually I think the grammar police are jealous of genuine native Texans and it's their way of trying to shame us Texans into becoming yankees.
Before y'all go to hollern about being Texans too, I been here for 60 yrs, and I remember when even the bankers and lawyers talked like I do, and them foreigners was runnin' around then complainin' about how it made us sound uneducated, it could be that Texas is an education unto itself.
