      More progress. Fluted the wrought fittings and fit and shaped the spacer. 1836 silver half dollar.

                        The steel is forged W2. The guard is wrought iron from the first railroad into Dallas in 1872. The wood is spalted sycamore from the grounds at the Texas Capitol. The coin is 1836, the year Texas won her independence from Mexico. This is a fairly close copy of a knife I'll present to Greg Abbott Jan 30th to commemorate House Bill 1935, which undid restrictive knife laws.

                        I was fortunate to be on the Abilene ABC station's 10:00 News on 9/15/17. I spoke about the knifemaking craft and about the recent change in Texas' knife laws. The link to the video is in the page below. The best quote was, "The fear with a law like this was that you'll
