    I'm certainly no expert, but in my opinion, the deer is 2yo. I have an absolute yearling on my place that has the same spikes. Mine has a baby's head and smaller physique than this buck.

              There is no way to tell what a buck will do with age. That spike could end up 20" larger by the time he matures. No reason to cull anything under 3.5 years old IMO.

                                unless you just need some freezer meat I would say let him walk. Or if that is the only option for a kid to get a shot at a deer.
