In no world will all have equal opportunities. And there will always be those who maximize their opportunities through hard work and commitment and those who will not.
They preach something that is unattainable and also limit a societal response to those who need correction, punishment and elimination. Allowing a woman to kill a defenseless fetus but society not to eliminate a ruthless criminal. The libertarian philosophy is a pipe dream at best and a socialist facade in reality.

Are you anti big-government but pro death penalty?

I'm for minimal but strong central government. I'm for states rights. I'm for accountable government and citizens. And yes, pro death penalty. Amoung other things. I believe this country and our constitution was based on moral values based on the Judeu-Christian belief system. I believe we have lost our way in that, thus the fracturing and decline of our country.

My belief is we will continue to fail. I believe that we will not recover and our way of life will irrevocably change.

We have many of the same beliefs. I just don't know that I trust the state enough to decide life or death.

There is an inherent risk of an innocent life being taken. I also believe that we have yet to apply it consistently and equally.

I guess that's where we disagree. No problem with that.

DRT I agree- Although I do believe that many of Libertarian beliefs would have a positive impact on the American society-

Largest being a Fair or Consumption Tax instead of the crap we have today. That way no matter what means a person used to get money they would pay taxes on it just like the person next to him. If I went and bought a pair of shoes the taxes would be a certain amount. The way it is set up today I pay a lot higher taxes because I have been overtaxed from the beginning where a person that sold dope to buy the same pair of shoes only pays sales tax. A lot in our system is broke and I agree with you not sure if we can recover.

Cant say I disagree with most of that. I will say I am much more optimistic (but that is my social style) and thank GOD our way of LIFE has changed over the last 241 years. There are lots of negatives in this life that folks are wanting that I don't agree with and will never support. But in some small way I continually look back at history and folks were concerned with EVERY change WE have seen come and geaux. Failure is NOT an option for our union and history is truly cyclical.....some good, some not so much! Getting back to firm basics may just be around the next corner.........or two. Stay vigilante always, TEACH your family they are our responsibility, offer a hand/ear to UN-like people as that is how positive values are spread not consistently berating other views, nothing greater than the GOLDEN RULE!

LOL......so YES, teleprompters are GOOD! (thus the reason they were invented) Glad to see that folks agree on something around here.....lol! His NYC style don't play well in lots of corners of this world and the prompter was incredibly helpful in setting a tone of civility as a nation. I commend his choice to stay on task.........and not chase squirrels and shiny objects!

Unfortunately a lot do not, it is obvious within this thread. Utopia and socialist were used in this thread to describe libertarian ideals. Problem is XBOW keeps calling himself a libertarian and throwing out false definitions of. He is a liberal not a libertarian.

                              Here's a tip for you calling me a non-libertarian.

Libertarians want small government. that means balance the budget and get out of people's private lives and let them have freedom.

                                Amen to that!

Just another reason I smile daily, that I was raised the way I am and don't associate with trolls
