Mine was 30.06 at 11 years old. Still don't know why my grandpa let me shoot that gun. My neck and shoulder was jacked up for a couple days lol.

Unlike a lot of you guys i grew up hunting only upland birds- dad and I travelled far and wide with our dogs chasing quail and pheasant. I did not go on my first deer hunt until I was 30 years old (1987) I killed my first deer - a spike - with a borrowed 270. I shot another one the next year then lost interest until I bought my first bow in the mid 90’s. I killed a doe on my first sit with that bow and have been hooked ever since. First bow was a low-end PSE that cost me $190
