He has a gas issue. Too little gas. I.e. the bolt doesn't lock back on the last round

I may have figured it out. I'll know for sure after this weekend. I pulled the gas system apart, again. Checked the alignment of the gas port on the barrel in relation to the port on the gas block, its was correct. While checking out the port on the gas block I noticed an intrusion. The hole in the gas tube, fully inserted, did not line up with the hole in the block. There was an overlap. I ran a drill bit thru it and opened it up so there's no intrusion. Hopefully that's all there was.

I was going to ask if the gas tube was upside down

I went through the exact same experience

I built my LR308 from a stripped lower

And I had the same ejection issues

Buy a Superlative adjustable gas block

            Buy correct diameter

            Call Clint at

Custom Heavy Buffers for AR10 AR15 rifle carbine. Home of the Slash CAR-10 Buffer.

Clint will set you straight on your spring and buffer

Install the the new gas block and align by marking with pencil

A straight line on the barrel gas hole

To a straight line marking the hole on the gas block

            Next

Use the extra long Allen wrench provided with the gas block

Fire one round at a time until you get the spent brass ejecting at 3 O Clock or 4 O Clock

Make small adjustments on the block until it’s right

It should be good to go with the combination of adjustable gas and heavy buffers spring and buffer

Seems to be running just fine now. Shot 10 flawless rounds thru it over the weekend. I'll definitely run it some more before calling it good, just didn't want to raise too much havoc at the ranch.

Thanks for the input, I'll certainly keep this in mind should I have any more issues with it.

It's not that much BS and you get to quiet your firearms down. But I do understamd. It's a bit of paperwork. Like getting a LTD. But more expensive
