I can jealous of guys who can make a double windsor and I had to wear one every day in college! Now once a week on Sunday mornings still can't. Wife says I am pathetic because I can tie 3 fishing knots and hang a deer and tie it up in a few seconds.

Make sure it's long enough, and make sure you have a tight knot.

Agree on the tight knot. The loose knots that seem to be in fashion now just look sloppy and lazy.

Just make sure it hangs low enough(the tie). Nothing worse than seeing a tie that's 5" from the waist line.

Just get a very large man to yell at you and tell you he's only going to show you once so you better pay attention. If you get it wrong he's going to put his size 13 boot between your back pockets.

Nope. I own two, dad has tied them for me at various funerals and they stay tied in the closet. I bet I havn't put one on in 4 years.

I'm 55, I keep one of those handy dandy how-to pamphlets in the drawer for those rare occasions when it's needed.
