Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner !!!!

I've wanted a directional feeder for a long time, but just could not bring myself to turn loose of the cash for one.

      Decided to build my own.
It works too. Throws corn 36ft in about a 3ft wide swath.

Now guess what it's made out of.

An old Moultrie feeder control box, a shop vac hose and maybe an old shop vac blower.

It's an old Remington feeder, modified to have the motor out the back instead of the top, and a much larger motor.

You're not even close on the other stuff.

It's interesting no doubt. I prefer a spincast myself. Of course at my place it won't matter but I prefer the animals spread out.

The caster is made from an old & HEAVILY modified swimming pool pump.
Only the housing & connectors from the pump were used. The internals are all home made.

I am thinking about it, and that's why I didn't do a build along on it.
I have not seen one that casts the feed the way I am doing it.
Just going to have to research it some.

I'm researching to see if my caster mechanism has been, or is being used in other feeders. If not, I am leaning strongly toward applying for a patent on it.

I would be glad to field test it !

Well, I would do that, but I only have the one, and I'M going to be using it.

Aside from being successful at getting it to work the way I wanted it to, the best thing is I have ZERO money invested in it. Completely built from salvaged, and scrap parts.

Pretty crafty and awesome Rick. Make it for a car mount slinger or ? If the barrel or whatever contains the corn sits above the tube, where do you mount the box?
