FYI... We charge our customers in the Houston/Beaumont area around $1.85 per mile and still seem to be under the larger hot shot services around us.

$150.00 - 2.00 is about right per mile. Just hope you do it right by getting insured and DOT registered.

I had an 800 amp disconnect hot shot last week from Athens to Waco and cost me $300. About $3 a loaded mile.

The irs mileage rate is at 56 cents per mile. Thats what you can claim when using your vehicle for work.

If I was doing hot shot stuff, I'd double that.

I charge 2.25 to 3.00 a mile, trailer or no trailer. Trust me, any lower and you'll go broke

Would the higher end of the pay also take in account your permits, etc? I assume you would also be insured/bonded?

I hate for you to short change yourself. Best of luck to you

Indeed. In that case I'd like to hear how all this worked out.
